ABOUT THE ARTIST

Craig Angus has had a passion for artistic endeavors since his youth, and just about every medium influences his work. "I love the richness of glass. I love the textures and hidden values of stone. I love the warmth and intriguing grain of wood. I love the possibilities that emerge when design meets medium; but most of all I just love the phenomenal power of imagination."

In particular, Craig Angus has been creating original glass pieces for over 25 years, learning initially from Ottawa-based glass artist John Jarema. His work can be found in homes across Canada and the U.S. He was the featured artist in the HUMM in June of 2004. He is a regular in the Country Lanes Studio Tour on Victoria Day Weekend. His studio is located in The Mississippi School (The Olde Barracks, Country Road #29) between Almonte and Carleton Place. His Gallery is located in his home in Carleton Place about 30 minutes west of Ottawa, Canada.

The primary technique for Craig's most recent works is fused (warm) glass, although he continues to accept commissions in traditional glass techniques.

Craig also mentors glass artists. In addition to placing importance on the precision and craftsmanship of various glass techniques, Craig also has developed a powerful approach to stimulating creative works.
